Carduvo Support
Contact support if you need help with your account, collection, scanner or prices. You can also send suggestions or report a card you cannot find.
Email: support@carduvo.app
The button opens your email app with a template message. You can review it, fill it in or delete anything you do not want before sending it.
What you can include
None of this is required, but it helps resolve the case faster:
- What happened: one sentence is enough, for example "while scanning a card".
- What you expected to happen.
- The Carduvo and iOS versions. Carduvo's appears in iPhone Settings › General › iPhone Storage › Carduvo; the iOS version, in Settings › General › About.
- A screenshot, if you like and if the problem is visible.
- Your account's email address, only if the problem involves your data.
Never send your password. Support does not need it and there is no way to read it.
Frequently asked questions
Account
Forgot your password?
- On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot your password?
- Enter your email address and tap Send the link.
- Open the link that arrives in your email on the same iPhone where you requested it, and choose a new password.
The link expires after 1 hour. If it has expired, request another one from the same screen.
For security, the screen shows the same message whether or not the email has an account, so nobody can find out who uses Carduvo.
Can you sign in with Apple or Google?
Accounts are created with an email address and a password. If the sign-in screen shows the Apple or Google options, you can use them too. If you already have an account with the same verified email address, it is linked to that same account.
The privacy policy explains what information Carduvo receives in that case.
Can you change your username?
Yes, from the Profile tab, at most once every 7 days.
When you change it, the previous sharing link stops working at that moment. The previous name stays reserved for your account: nobody else can use it, and you can reclaim it later.
How do you delete an account?
- Open the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Type your account's email address to confirm.
- Tap Delete my account permanently.
Your account, your profile, your collections, your cards and sealed products, and your histories are deleted. Your sharing link stops working and the app signs you out. It cannot be undone.
If the app says it could not delete the account, the account is still active and you can try again. If the error keeps happening, contact support and include the message shown.
If you only want to stop using the app for a while, sign out: that deletes nothing. The details of what is and is not deleted are in the privacy policy.
Collections
How do you create, rename or delete collections?
In the Profile tab, tap Manage collections. From there you can create collections, rename them, choose the default one (where new cards go if you do not pick another) and delete them.
When you delete a collection that has contents, the app first asks which other collection to move them to. Cards are never deleted without you knowing.
Who can see your collection?
Nobody, unless you turn sharing on. When the account is created, sharing is set to Only me.
If you turn it on, anyone with your link, carduvo.app/u/your-name, can open the
page without a Carduvo account. You can choose:
- to share all your collections or just one;
- to show or hide the total value.
The page shows your cards and how many copies you own. It never shows your email, what you paid, your notes, the grade or certificate of your cards, or your sealed products.
To stop sharing, switch back to Only me: the page stops being shown at that moment. What someone has already seen, such as a screenshot, cannot be taken back.
Can you track sealed products?
Yes. You can add Pokémon sealed products, such as boxes and packs, to your collections. They are counted separately from cards: they do not add copies or mark cards in a set. When PriceCharting publishes a price for the product, Carduvo shows it; if not, it says there is no price.
Scanner
How does the scanner work?
- Choose what you are going to scan: Pokémon or Sports. The choice is remembered for next time.
- Place the card inside the frame. The scanner reads the printed number with the iPhone's text recognition and looks it up in the catalog.
- On sports cards the number is on the back: the scanner asks you to flip the card.
- If there are several possible cards, choose yours.
With Save automatically turned on, the card is saved as soon as it is recognized with confidence. If it has several variants, the most common one is saved and a Change to… option appears so you can pick another. Always check that the variant is yours.
Photos are read on the iPhone, are never uploaded, and are deleted as soon as they have been read. More detail in the privacy policy.
The scanner cannot find a card
- Find more light and avoid glare on the sleeve. You can turn on the flashlight from the scanner.
- Make sure the printed number is inside the frame: that is what is read, not the artwork.
- Check that the chosen catalog (Pokémon or Sports) is the right one.
- If it still does not appear, search for it by hand by name or by printed number and add it from there.
If the card is not in the catalog, contact support with the card's name, set and number.
If you denied camera access
You can use Carduvo without the camera: searching for and adding cards by hand works the same.
To turn it on later, open iPhone Settings › Carduvo › Camera.
Prices
Where do prices come from?
Pokémon prices, including sealed products, come from PriceCharting, and sports prices from SportsCardsPro. Carduvo does not set prices. Each card links to its page at the source, and values are shown in US dollars.
A collection's value uses the latest recorded price of each card.
A card has no price
When a source does not publish a price for a card, a variant or a grade, Carduvo says there is no price instead of showing an approximate figure. Those copies do not count toward the total value, and the app shows how many are left out.
What does "Calculated on N of M copies" mean?
It accompanies a collection's change in value. It shows how many of your copies go into that calculation: those that had a market value when you added them and have a price today. The rest are not estimated: they are left out of the calculation and the app says so.
A price looks wrong
Contact support and include the card, its variant, its grade if it has one, and the price you expected to see. The card's page at the source, linked from Carduvo, helps compare.
Other questions
Is there an Android version?
For now Carduvo is available only for iPhone.
Does Carduvo cost anything?
Carduvo charges nothing today. If paid features are ever added, it will be announced in the app beforehand and the privacy policy will be updated.
